Physical and Mechanical Properties of Cross-Laminated Timber Made of a Combination of Mangium-Puspa Wood and Polyurethane Adhesive

This study aimed to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of cross-laminated timber (CLT) characteristics from mangium (Acacia mangium) puspa (Schima wallichii) woods their combination using polyurethane (PU 1.2) adhesives. The manufacture CLT began with basic adhesive characterization thermo-mechanical analysis. Wood material’s chemical were also tested its response PU 1.2 wettability. (100 ´ 30 3.60) cm3 was manufactured 160 g/m2 glue spread at a pressure 0.80 MPa for 200 minutes. panels characterized refers JAS 3079 standard. results show that had gelatination time 182.1 minutes 25°C, able form urethane groups, experienced an increase in storage modulus 35°C. Mangium have different properties, but they interact similarly Puspa panel has higher density than lower dimensional stability. bending hybrid puspa-mangium-puspa match one sample shear strength met standard both grain directions.
